Kourtney Kardashian’s Parenting Rollercoaster: A Call from the Side of the Road

In a recent episode of The Kardashians, Kourtney Kardashian opened up about the challenges of motherhood, revealing a particularly alarming moment when her son Mason called her from the side of the road with a broken arm.

The 45-year-old reality star, who welcomed her newborn son Rocky in November 2023 with husband Travis Barker, found herself navigating the complexities of parenting while managing her family’s needs.

Kourtney shared that she had been in a blissful bubble with baby Rocky for 40 days, but that tranquility was abruptly interrupted.

On the very day she marked this milestone, she received a shocking wake-up call.

“Mason broke his arm right when it turned 40 days,” she recounted, humorously suggesting that it felt like a divine nudge to get back into the swing of things.

The call came directly from Mason, her firstborn with ex-partner Scott Disick, who was understandably distressed.

“Mom, I’m on the side of the road.

I broke my arm,” Mason told her, prompting Kourtney to leap into action.

She rushed him to the hospital, all while feeling the weight of guilt for leaving baby Rocky behind.

“I didn’t even have any saved milk because I don’t leave him,” she admitted, highlighting the emotional tug-of-war she faces as a mother of four.

Kourtney’s family is a lively mix, including Mason, 14, Rocky, 8 months, Penelope, 12, and Reign, 9.

Each child has unique needs and stages of life, making it a constant balancing act for her.

Adding to the blend, she is also a stepmom to Travis’s two children, Landon, 20, and Alabama, 18, as well as his daughter Atayana, 25, whom he has helped raise.

“I try to carve out one-on-one time with each of my kids,” Kourtney explained, emphasizing her desire to be present for all of them.

“It’s a feeling of being pulled in different directions, wanting to be everything to everyone.” This sentiment resonates with many parents who often find themselves stretched thin amid the demands of a busy household.

Despite being a familiar face on their family’s reality shows, Mason has chosen to step back from the limelight in recent years.

His appearance on Keeping Up With The Kardashians during his birth in 2009 marked the beginning of his public life, but he has since opted for a more private existence.

In December 2023, he made a rare appearance in a family photo shared by his aunt, Kim Kardashian, hinting at his desire for a lower profile.

Though he joined Instagram earlier this year, Mason’s posts are infrequent, leading some fans to draw parallels between him and his uncle, Rob Kardashian, who also prefers a quieter life away from the spotlight.

Meanwhile, his siblings, Penelope and Reign, continue to be featured on the family’s Hulu series, keeping the Kardashian legacy alive on-screen.

In the latest episode, Kourtney expressed her frustration over Mason’s reluctance to join the family on tour with Travis and Blink-182 in Australia.

“He wants to spend time with his friends and his dad,” she said, reflecting the typical teenage struggle of balancing family obligations with social life.
