In a recent candid moment, Tom Holland opened up about his relationship with girlfriend Zendaya, revealing a quirky habit that stems from his concern for her well-being.
The 28-year-old actor, known for his role as Spider-Man, shared this insight during an appearance on Samad Dada’s podcast, “On The Menu.”
It turns out that Holland often finds himself typing Zendaya’s name into Google, not out of curiosity, but rather from a place of anxiety.
Holland admitted that the last thing he searched for was indeed Zendaya.
“I’m not on social media, and I delete it when I’m not using it,” he explained.
This digital detox can leave him feeling a bit disconnected, prompting him to check the news to ensure everything is alright with his partner.
“It’s more of a bit of an anxiety thing, but I’ll check to see if everything’s good and to make sure we’re all cool,” he confessed.
His protective nature was evident during the launch of his new non-alcoholic drink brand, Baro, in New York City on October 24.
In a clip that quickly went viral, Holland was seen stepping in to shield Zendaya from a swarm of fans clamoring for autographs.
With a firm yet gentle grip, he took her hand and guided her away from the crowd, asserting, “Give us a little bit of space.”
The couple’s bond has been a topic of interest since they first met on the set of “Spider-Man: Homecoming” in 2017, eventually beginning their romantic journey in 2021.
Despite the public’s fascination with their relationship, both stars have chosen to keep much of their personal lives private.
Zendaya previously discussed this balancing act in an interview with Elle, emphasizing the importance of living authentically while protecting their peace.
“I can’t not be a person and live my life and love the person I love,” she stated, reflecting on the challenges of maintaining a private relationship in the spotlight.
“You can’t hide.
That’s not fun either.” She added that it’s all about finding a way to exist without compromising their happiness.
Despite their efforts to stay under the radar, Holland and Zendaya are not shy about sharing their affection for one another.
At the 2024 Critics’ Choice Awards, Holland reminisced about their time together, revealing that they often revisit their early work in “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”
“Zendaya and I will, every now and then, watch Spider-Man 1 and reminisce about being 19 and making those movies again,” he shared with a smile.
He expressed his fondness for those moments, saying, “I love those movies, and I love savoring those moments.” However, he also noted that he tries not to indulge in watching them too often, recognizing how special those memories are.
