In a recent interview, Jake Porter, the father of the late Kim Porter, expressed his deep distress upon viewing a newly released surveillance video that shows Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulting his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.
The footage, which has garnered significant media attention, depicts a disturbing scene where Combs is seen pushing, kicking, and dragging Cassie during an apparent altercation.
Porter described his reaction to the video as one of nausea, revealing that it left him with lingering concerns about the treatment his daughter may have endured during her relationship with the music mogul, which lasted until her untimely death from pneumonia in 2018.
In a conversation with Rolling Stone, he stated, “You could say I was sickened by the video.
I wouldn’t treat my worst enemy like that.”
Reflecting on his experiences, Porter recounted his time in Vietnam, emphasizing that he never witnessed such brutality, even in combat.
He remarked, “I was in Vietnam, and I would not treat my adversary that way.” This revelation has shifted his perspective on Combs, as he recalled living near his daughter during various stages of her tumultuous relationship with the hip-hop icon.
Porter admitted that he had no prior knowledge of Combs’ capacity for such violence.
“I had no idea he could stoop that low,” he said, adding that he believes many others will also be shocked by the footage.
He further expressed his sorrow, stating, “I wouldn’t even do that to a dog.
My thoughts are with Cassie.”
While he declined to delve into many details, Porter did share that Kim had three children with Combs, born in 1998 and 2006.
He acknowledged that despite the couple’s love for each other, their relationship was fraught with issues.
“I think he was an extremely jealous individual,” he noted.
“They adored one another, but I don’t know what Puffy calls love.
It seems he really doesn’t understand what love is.”
Concerns for Kim’s children were paramount in Porter’s remarks.
Sources have indicated that Combs exhibited volatility and controlling behavior throughout his relationships, a claim that was part of a broader investigation conducted by Rolling Stone.
This extensive inquiry involved interviews with over 50 individuals connected to Combs and sought to uncover the truth behind the allegations of abuse.
The investigation gained momentum after Cassie filed a lawsuit against Combs last November, accusing him of sual trafficking, rape, and assault.
Although Combs reached a settlement with Cassie within 24 hours, six additional lawsuits followed, each detailing similar accusations.
In response to the uproar surrounding the surveillance footage, Combs admitted to his actions, stating, “It’s so hard to think about the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you need to do that.”
He took full responsibility for his behavior in the video, expressing regret and stating he had sought professional help, including therapy and rehabilitation.
“I have no excuses because I was messed up; I mean that I reached rock bottom,” Combs confessed.
He emphasized that he is striving to become a better person daily, saying, “I sincerely apologize, but I will strive to become a better man each and every day.”
When approached for comments regarding the ongoing legal matters and new allegations stemming from the Rolling Stone investigation, Combs’ attorney, Jonathan Davis, refrained from addressing specific questions.
He stated, “Mr. Combs cannot comment on settled cases, nor will he address any pending litigation or allegations received from the press.”
Kim and Diddy first crossed paths while both were employed at Uptown Records, which marked the beginning of a complex relationship filled with both affection and turbulence.
As the story unfolds, the spotlight remains on the troubling dynamics of their relationship and the implications of the recent revelations.
