Ice Spice and Central C Team Up in Viral Hit “Did It First”

In an electrifying move that’s taken social media by storm, Ice Spice has dropped her latest single “Did It First,” a collaboration with fellow artist Central C. This track is part of her eagerly awaited debut album, Y2K, which has been generating buzz since its announcement.

Released on Thursday, the song quickly gained traction, especially on TikTok, where snippets have been circulating and captivating fans.

The music video accompanying “Did It First” showcases Ice Spice’s signature flair, featuring her dancing in front of a corner store and playfully twerking on her bed.

These visuals not only highlight her vibrant personality but also align perfectly with the nostalgic Y2K aesthetic that the album embodies.

With scenes reminiscent of early 2000s chatrooms and vintage desktop computers, the video transports viewers back in time.

This marks the fourth single that Ice Spice has unveiled ahead of her album release, following tracks like “Think You The Shit,” “Fart,” “Gimme A Light,” and “Fat Butt.” Earlier this year, Rolling Stone even touted Y2K as one of the ten most anticipated rap albums of 2024, underscoring the excitement surrounding her work.

Ice Spice is not just focusing on her music; she’s also gearing up for a headline tour across North America.

Kicking off at the end of July in Washington, D.C., the tour will take her through major cities including Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, wrapping up in Miami on August 31.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to see her perform live.

The music video for “Did It First” features several locations in East London, notably Walthamstow Village.

Ice Spice, 24, can be seen strutting her stuff outside the Village Bakery, clad in a pale pink tracksuit and sporting a bright orange bobbed wig.

The playful energy of the video is amplified by the inclusion of giant pink CGI hearts floating in the sky, creating a whimsical backdrop to her moves.

As the video progresses, Ice Spice engages with the camera, glancing back over her shoulder with an air of confidence that’s hard to miss.

The catchy refrain echoes the sentiment that it doesn’t matter who did it first, adding a cheeky twist to the narrative.

Since its release just four days ago, the official music video has amassed nearly 7 million views on YouTube, a testament to its immediate impact.

However, not everyone in Walthamstow is thrilled about the American rapper’s choice of filming location.

Some locals have expressed confusion over the sudden attention their neighborhood is receiving.

A staff member from Home Tipple, a wine shop on Orford Road, recounted seeing a film crew outside the Queen’s Arms.

He noted that while there were around 12 to 15 crew members present, they didn’t linger for long, leaving some locals wondering what all the fuss was about.

Another employee from Peeled Restaurant mentioned that filming took place about two weeks ago but shared that they weren’t privy to much of the action.
