Bun B Reveals Wild Behind-the-Scenes Moments with Beyoncé and Jay-Z

In a recent episode of “The Sentimentality Mixtape,” Houston rap legend Bun B sat down with his mentee, Saman Ashrawi, to reminisce about his illustrious career, sharing fascinating anecdotes tied to five standout tracks.

One of the highlights was the iconic song “Beware of It,” a collaboration featuring the powerhouse duo of Beyoncé and Slim Thug.

During their conversation, Bun B recounted an interesting incident from the music video shoot for “Keep An Eye On It.”

He revealed that Jay-Z made the surprising decision to remove both him and Slim Thug from the video.

The reason?

It seemed to stem from Beyoncé’s eye-catching wardrobe choices, which left Hov feeling a bit uneasy.

Bun painted a vivid picture of the scene in New York, where the video was being filmed.

He jokingly noted that if you watch the video closely, you’ll spot some rather revealing outfits on set.

He chuckled, mentioning how his wife was present during the filming, making the situation even more amusing.

“It was wild,” he said, reflecting on the sight of Beyoncé dancing in a short skirt that resembled a bikini.

As the story unfolded, Bun elaborated on the atmosphere during the shoot, which was directed by the well-known hype Williams.

He described a particular scene involving a chair, where Beyoncé and several other dancers showcased their moves, all while wearing short skirts that left little to the imagination.

The visuals were certainly provocative, showcasing plenty of thigh and a hint of cheekiness.

Things took a turn when Jay-Z became noticeably uncomfortable with the situation.

He felt the need to protect his then-girlfriend, leading him to request that all the men present be cleared from the set.

Bun recalled the moment vividly, noting how they were all told to remain in their dressing rooms until it was time for their scenes.

The rapper humorously remarked on the irony of the situation, noting that while there were other men around, they weren’t straight.

This detail added a layer of humor to the already bizarre circumstances.

As the crew swiftly removed them from the vicinity, Bun and the others found themselves cut off from watching Beyoncé dance.

Eventually, the production team approached Bun and the others to apologize for the abrupt removal.

“I’m really sorry you guys had to leave the room, but Jay is uncomfortable,” one of the crew members explained.

Bun and his companions responded with understanding, assuring them that it was no problem at all.

They were just thrilled to be part of the experience.

The conversation didn’t stop there.

Bun and Saman also delved into Bun’s collaborations with the late Tupac Shakur and his unique foray into country music alongside his partner-in-crime, Pimp C. These stories added depth to Bun’s already rich narrative, showcasing his versatility as an artist.

Listeners were treated to a blend of nostalgia and insight as Bun B shared these behind-the-scenes experiences, painting a picture of the hip-hop world in its heyday.

His anecdotes serve as a reminder of the vibrant culture that shaped the music industry, leaving fans eager for more tales from the rap icon.
