Princess Anne Opens Up About Horse Incident: “I Can’t Remember a Thing”

In a heartfelt return to royal duties, has candidly shared her experience following a horse-related accident that left her with a concussion and minor injuries.

This marked her first public engagement since the incident, which occurred at her country estate on June 23.

During her appearance at the Writing for the Disabled Association’s National Championships at Hartpury University, the 73-year-old royal revealed a surprising detail: she can’t recall anything about the event that led to her hospitalization.

Stepping out of her vehicle at the event, Anne was greeted with warmth and support.

However, her immediate words were striking.

“I can’t remember a single thing about it,” she told those around her, as reported by the Daily Mail.

This admission sheds light on the impact of her injuries, believed to have been caused by a blow from a horse.

Despite the recent health scare, the Princess Royal seemed to thrive in the equestrian atmosphere.

She actively engaged with RDA supporters, presented awards, and celebrated the achievements of competitors.

The National Championships, spanning three days, is significant for disabled riders, and Princess Anne’s long-standing commitment to the organization is well-known.

She has held the patronage since November 1971 and has been its president since 1986.

Anne’s appearance comes after a five-day hospital stay, where she received treatment following the accident.

She was discharged on June 28 and has since been recuperating at her home in Gatcombe Park, Gloucestershire.

It was reported that she would take the necessary time to rest before resuming her royal duties, based on her medical team’s advice.

In the days following the incident, reports indicated that Princess Anne experienced temporary memory loss related to the accident.

This revelation raised concerns among royal watchers, but many remain hopeful for her swift recovery.

Meanwhile, her husband, Vice-Admiral Sir Timothy Lawrence, expressed gratitude towards the medical staff at Southmead Hospital for their care during her brief stay.

“I would like to extend my warmest thanks to all the team at Southmead Hospital for their care, expertise, and kindness during my wife’s short stay,” he stated, reflecting the couple’s close bond since their marriage in 1992.

As the royal family continues to support Princess Anne during her recovery, Sir Tim also provided updates on her condition, assuring the public that she was making a gradual recovery.

He mentioned that she would return to her royal engagements when she felt ready, emphasizing the importance of her health first.

The accident, which Buckingham Palace confirmed shortly after it occurred, was described as a precautionary measure for observation.

The palace reassured the public that Anne was expected to make a full recovery, and has been kept informed about his sister’s health status.

While the details surrounding the incident remain somewhat unclear, the Princess Royal’s resilience shines through her words and actions.

Her dedication to equestrian activities and the RDA remains unwavering, and her presence at the championships serves as a testament to her commitment.

As Princess Anne navigates this challenging time, her openness about her memory loss and injuries resonates with many.

It serves as a reminder of the unpredictability of life, even for those in the royal spotlight.

With her characteristic strength, she continues to inspire others, proving that even in the face of adversity, one can find the courage to return to what they love most.
