50 Cent Reflects on His Past with Vivica A.

Fox Amid BET Awards Throwback

In a nostalgic moment shared on social media, rapper and media mogul 50 Cent took a trip down memory lane by posting a video of his acceptance speech for Best New Artist at the 2003 BET Awards.

This throwback clip, which he shared on Instagram, not only highlights his early career triumphs but also rekindles memories of his brief yet tumultuous romance with actress Vivica A.

Fox.

The video captures the moment when legendary entertainer Stevie Wonder presented the award to 50 Cent, who expressed his gratitude to his fans and collaborators, including Dr. Dre.

However, it was his playful remark about Fox that caught everyone’s attention.

“I’m just happy to be here with all these beautiful people in this room,” he said, before adding, “I want to thank Vivica Fox for wearing that dress as well.” The camera then panned to Fox, who was clearly flattered by the compliment.

Their relationship blossomed shortly after that memorable night at the BET Awards, leading them to attend the MTV Video Music Awards together later that year.

However, their romance was short-lived, lasting only three months before they called it quits.

Since their breakup, the two have had a rocky relationship, often finding themselves embroiled in public disputes.

Their history has been marked by occasional jabs and criticisms.

In July 2020, Fox didn’t hold back when discussing 50 Cent on her talk show, “Cocktails With Queens.”

She accused him of exhibiting “fuckboy tendencies,” a comment that didn’t sit well with the rapper.

In response, he posted a now-deleted message on Instagram, saying, “I dated Vivica for four months 17 years ago, and she is still in love with me.

She is still angry with me.”

Reflecting on that flirtatious moment from the BET Awards, 50 Cent admitted that, looking back, he wishes he had kept his comments to himself.

In his Instagram caption, he candidly wrote, “I look back at some of the shit that I did, I gotta learn to shut the fuck up.” It’s clear that the years have not dulled the complexities of their relationship.

Despite their past, Fox hasn’t shied away from criticizing 50 Cent in the media.

She once remarked on his tendency to portray black women negatively, saying, “He simply has such fuckboy propensities.” This sentiment echoes the ongoing tension between the two, as they navigate their complicated history in the public eye.

Fox’s comments were particularly pointed, as she elaborated on how 50 Cent seems to want women to fit a certain mold, stating, “You want someone to sit over there and act like a cute little dog for a small fee.” Her words reflect a broader conversation about expectations and treatment within relationships, especially in the context of race and gender dynamics.

50 Cent’s past remarks about black women have also sparked controversy, particularly during his appearance on Lil Wayne’s Young Money radio.
